Lismore is a Hertiage Town in West Waterford, on the border between the counties of Waterford and Cork. It is on the banks of the River Blackwater, the second largest river in Ireland.

This view is towards the hotel - Lismore House Hotel has been undergoing renovations and will be open towards the end of May begining of June 2007. It should be a big asset to the town as there hasn't been anywhere a large number of people can stay until now.

There are many attractive shop fronts on Main Street

One of the Pub's in town, Foley's also does meals everyday and evening. The Summerhouse beside it does lunches and light snacks except on Mondays.

Lismore Cathederal is quite a simple Cathederal, as Cathederals go! The Spire has been recently restored.

There is a beautiful Burne-Jones window in the Cathederal. Burne-Jones was a leading artist in the Arts & Crafts movement and was associated with William Morris.

Lismore Castle - the Gardens are open form Easter to end of October each year. Lismore Castle Arts Gallery will be open from 26th May with a selection from the Rubell Family Collection of Contemporary Art and works form the Devonshire Family Collection.

There are also many sculptural pieces to be seen throughout the Castle Gardens.
